I’ve been a follower of the @sourdoughschool since the beginning of my sourdough journey. I’ve always admired their community and dreamt of becoming a student there. However, the exchange rate between the South African Rand and the British Pound wasn’t in my favor.
Then, one evening in August 2022, I took a leap of faith and inquired about enrolling in the Baking as Lifestyle Medicine program, earning my certificate, and becoming a teacher. To my utter amazement, I was accepted with a sponsorship.
This experience has transformed my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. My perspective on life, food, and medicine has evolved, and I’m eternally thankful to @vanessakimbell and her team.
Now, a year later, I proudly present my graduation recipe – a hearty and diverse spin on Vetkoek and Mince, which my husband calls ‘Janet’s twist.’ The journey was challenging, but it was also incredibly rewarding and fun. This year has brought significant growth, and I’m standing tall and proud.
